Lunch Menus

Catering at this academy

The lunch catering service is provided by Chartwells, part of the Compass Group.  Chartwells are a well-established and experienced school caterer.  The service is provided under contract with Harris Federation.Food

At Harris Primary Academy Purley Way, we know that all pupils need high-quality, nutritious food for a healthy body and mind. Therefore, we provide delicious, seasonal and healthy meals every day.

We use the caterers Chartwells, who have extensive understanding of the foods that children both need and enjoy. They work closely with us to create exciting, and healthy menus that all pupils can access. Please see below for our termly menus.

We want our pupils to have a positive dining experience in school, and experience the benefits of a balanced diet from an early age. Our midday supervisor team support our children to try new foods from reception, and to ensure they develop good eating habits.

Chartwells caters to pupils with different medical needs and allergies, so that as many pupils as possible can enjoy a hot school meal with their friends. Should you have any concerns about your child's eating habits, or if you consider your child to be a 'fussy eater', then do not hesitate to contact us to develop a meal plan for your child at school.

Pupils in all year groups can receive a free school meal every day.

Pupils are also welcome to bring in packed lunches from home should they wish.

We are a nut-free school.

Here is a link to the Eatwell Guide (from Public Health England) – this provides a useful overview of what food groups make up a balanced and healthy diet.

If your child has a special diet and/or certain food intolerances, then we have a special diet procedure which contains a form for the parent/carer to complete and return – link here. To view the Parent Guide for Chartwells Medical Diets, please click here. You can also view a Medical Diet letter to parents from Chartwells by clicking here.
