I am delighted to welcome you to Harris Primary Academy Purley Way and share with you its values of Resilience, Empathy, Ambition, Creativity and Honesty. We opened in September 2016 and our current cohort of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children are enjoying our state of the art facilities and resources. Our aim is to include three forms of entry from Reception to Year 6 by 2022. We endeavour to provide an innovative and inclusive curriculum in order for each and every child to succeed academically, socially, emotionally and physically. At Harris Primary Academy Purley Way you will find a dynamic mix of high academic standards, exceptional pastoral care and extensive opportunities for children, achieving our vision of ‘Excellence for All’.
Our children are positive, ambitious and determined, and with our focus on the whole child, they quickly build resilience in order to meet challenges and become adaptive, responsive and caring young adults, ready and confident to become a leader.
In our journey to ‘Outstanding’, we place the child at the heart of all that we do; we stretch, challenge and engage within and beyond the curriculum, encouraging them to consider and reflect on their learning and its impact in the wider world. Beyond this, we seek opportunities to be mindful and considered, ensuring that our children are creative, informed and responsible citizens in an ever-changing society. The school's core values provide guidance, helping to prepare them for some of the challenges they will face beyond their time here.
In addition to the excellent classroom learning opportunities and pastoral care offered by our driven and dedicated staff, our children benefit from additional specialists who excel in specific areas such as the arts and physical education, ensuring that there are opportunities for a wide range of experiences.
Harris Primary Academy Purley Way is an exceptional new school and I, along with our children, look forward to being able to share more of our school’s vision with you when you come to visit.
