Harris Academies
All Academies in our Federation aim to transform the lives of the students they serve by bringing about rapid improvement in examination results, personal development and aspiration.

Welcome to Harris Primary Academy Purley Way and thank you for taking time to explore what our Academy has to offer.

Harris Primary Academy Purley Way was established in September 2016.  We welcomed a cohort of Reception children and their families, who watched their new school develop in front of their eyes.

We are now delighted to have moved into our impressive, purpose built, three storey building which opened in September 2017 welcoming Reception and Year 1 children.  The academy has state of the art technology as well as resources and facilities to match as we venture on our journey to becoming Outstanding.  The Academy will grow year on year to provide classes from Reception to Year 6 and offer three forms of entry by 2022.

The Academy provides local families and children of Croydon and Sutton with a broad and balanced education that exacts high expectations.  At Harris Primary Academy Purley Way we aim to make learning irresistible, ensuring children develop a genuine, life-long, love of learning and that every child flourishes by delivering an enjoyable curriculum that allows all children to succeed academically, physically, emotionally and socially.   We place the child at the heart of everything we do and it is our committed ambition to empower all children, in partnership with their families and local community, to become informed, compassionate, global citizens.

Our vision is ‘Excellence for All’.  Whether you are a pupil, sibling, parent, teacher, midday meal supervisor or outside agency, each individual has a responsibility to provide excellence and receive excellence.  At Harris Primary Academy Purley Way our united vision means that we will work tirelessly to ensure that we are constantly striving to provide excellence for our children and families.

Underpinning our Academy’s vision are our school values REACH; Resilience, Empathy, Achievement, Communication and Honesty.  We believe each child is unique and deserves the opportunity to be happy, feel valued, feel safe and experience success during their academic journey at HPAPW.  We acknowledge and celebrate all acts which observe our values.  Our values are embedded in everything we do and support our vision, ‘Excellence for All.’

We are extremely proud to be part of the Harris Federation which combines 44 primary, secondary and all-through academies across London.  As part of a thriving community of schools we benefit from the ability to share, learn, support and challenge each other as we grow together.

We are active promoters in developing a strong and committed partnership with our parent body, a tradition we want to continue as the Academy grows and develops. If you are considering Harris Primary Academy Purley Way, please do visit us at one of our open days or evenings – dates are above on the website – please call and come and say hello!

I look forward to meeting you soon,

Jane Robinson
